Engraving Services
Scope of Service
At Hogans Family Jewellers, we offer a bespoke engraving service on selected jewellery items only. Not all items in our collection are suitable for engraving. Suitability is determined at our sole discretion based on the material composition, surface area, structural integrity, and design of the piece.
Engraving techniques employed may include, but are not limited to:
• Hand engraving
• Laser engraving
• Machine engraving
Character and Design Limitations
Engraving is subject to the following limitations, which vary by item:
• Maximum character counts per line and in total
• Permitted character sets (e.g. Latin alphabet, numerals, selected symbols)
• Font availability (a selection of approved fonts will be presented at the time of order)
• Minimum and maximum font sizes
• Available engraving surface area
Specific limitations for each eligible item are stated on the relevant product page. It is your responsibility to ensure that your requested inscription complies with these constraints prior to submitting your order.
Ordering
An order for the engraving service constitutes a binding contract between you and us once we have issued written confirmation. By submitting your order, you confirm that all engraving details provided are complete, accurate, and final. Any subsequent correction to text, design, or layout will be treated as a new order and will incur additional charges. Please review your order with the utmost care before approving.
Pricing and Payment
Payment for the engraving service is required in full at the time of order and is non-refundable once production has commenced, except where we are in breach of these Terms and Conditions or applicable consumer law.
Production and Delivery
Engraving is a bespoke, hand-finished process. Standard lead times are indicated at the point of order and are estimates only. We will use reasonable endeavours to meet stated timescales but accept no liability for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Returns, Cancellation and Refunds
Engraved items are personalised goods made to your individual specification. Accordingly, and in accordance with applicable consumer legislation, you do not have a statutory right to cancel or return an engraved item simply because you have changed your mind.
If an engraved item is delivered with a material defect, please contact us within 30 calendar days of delivery. In such circumstances, we will, at our discretion, offer:
• Repair or re-engraving of the affected item
• Replacement with a correctly engraved item
• A partial or full refund, as appropriate to the circumstances
Minor variations in font rendering, depth, or finish that fall within accepted industry tolerances shall not constitute a defect.
Limitation of Liability
Our total liability to you in respect of the engraving service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the engraving element of your order.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential losses, including loss of enjoyment, sentimental value, or loss of profit, arising from any defect in or failure of the engraving service.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.
We shall not be liable for damage to a jewellery item caused by a pre-existing defect, weakness, or unsuitable material composition that was not reasonably discoverable by us prior to engraving.

Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Engraving Service and supersede all prior representations, agreements, and understandings.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unenforceable, or illegal, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver
Failure by us to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of our right to do so in the future.
Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any amendments will not apply to orders already confirmed and accepted by us.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
