FAQ

Typically we allow anywhere between half an hour to an hour for a design consultation depending on the complexity of the piece or pieces.

For a custom engagement ring design, for example, we allow a full hour.

Our design consultations are obligation-free and free of charge. Following your consultation, you will be provided with a quote for your bespoke piece which is valid for 30 days from when it is received.

At Hogans, we offer both in-showroom and virtual design consultations. If you're looking to have an existing piece remodelled, it will need to be inspected by one of our jewellers before a quote is created. This is so our jewellers can take measurements and assess the condition of the materials. If you don't live locally in Toowoomba, we recommend posting the item or items to our showroom ahead of your virtual design consultation. If you would like to arrange this, please contact our team.

We understand that jewellery is incredibly sentimental, and we always encourage having these incorporated into a new bespoke piece. If you have gemstones that you would like to incorporate we ask that you bring these to your design consultation so that our jeweller can inspect them to ensure they are fit to use in the new design.

We understand that jewellery is incredibly sentimental, and we always encourage having these incorporated into a new bespoke piece. If you have heirloom pieces or old gold that you would like to recycle and incorporate into the new bespoke piece, we ask that you bring this to your design consultation so that our jeweller can assess and weigh the gold, then credit this towards your new piece. Due to the complexity of the gold refining process, it is more financially viable to take a gold credit to offset the cost against the new design rather than using the existing gold.

You don't necessarily need to prepare anything, although it is helpful to consider key factors such as your budget and any preferred styles or designs of the piece or pieces you like.
